Washing Instructions

  • To preserve the life and color of your garment the best way to do that is hand wash with a natural soap/detergent in cold water and let the clothing lay flat to dry.

  • If you must put through the wash remember to wash alone as some colors may still bleed a bit of color. Choose a gentle cycle with cold water with a natural soap. If you must dry put on tumble dry/lowest heat and just be patient, its worth it to not warp clothing size.

  • I am not responsible for items ruined due to neglect in correct care.

  • All of my screen prints are now water based ink so you may iron on top to smooth any bumps and make crisp again.

I believe in using quality fabrics, most of which are organic and more sustainable. On top of environmental benefits these fabrics end up being softer to the touch, and better for people that have skin allergens.

Organic Cotton

What makes organic materials, like cotton, better than the conventional ones? Organic cotton is grown in a way that uses methods and materials that lessen the impact on our environment. A big effort in the organic movement is to use growing systems that replenish and maintain soil fertility and build biologically diverse agriculture. Organic cotton uses far less water as well.

The main benefit of organic materials are that the crops aren't treated with harmful pesticides, insecticides, herbicides and Genetically Modified Organisms. These toxins are harmful for farmers and workers, us as consumers, and entire wildlife eco-systems.

Soy

Soy is a natural by-product of normal food production - soybeans, tofu, soy milk. It is a renewable resource which can be grown organically and is naturally biodegradable. It requires no pesticide to grow and is often used to sow fields to replenish nutrient in the soil. Manufacturing is done through wet-spinning. The liquid soy is solidified to make soybean fiber. The final product the fiber is then used to create sustainable fabric. The remaining raw material after having their protein extracted, can be used as feed or fertilizer.

All auxiliaries used in production of soybean fiber are of a harmless nature, and they are recyclable making the production process a closed end process.

Soy is durable and strong, it also has natural wicking properties and good absorbency. Soy resists perspiration, dries rather quickly, and also retains warmth extremely well. There is hardly shrinkage, and it does not wrinkle.
Soy has anti-bacterial qualities, it's also sunlight resistant offering UV protection.

Some claim that soy's natural amino acids have a positive health effect on the wearer's skin.

Bamboo

Naturally soft, bamboo apparel is softer than the softest cotton, and it has a natural sheen like silk or cashmere, I like to use the word buttery when trying to describe the texture of bamboo. Bamboo also drapes like silk or satin. Bamboo/Organic cotton blends are also extremely soft but heavier in weight offering more protection or structure.

Bamboo’s organic and naturally smooth fiber properties are non-irritating to the skin, making it ideal for people with skin sensitivities or other allergies and dermatitis.
Thermal regulating ensuring that you are warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Bamboo clothing is excellent in wicking properties also make it ideal for warm summer days because it absorbs moisture. A cross-section of bamboo fiber reveals various micro-holes, allowing bamboo cloth to have superior absorption.  This allows bamboo cloth to absorb and evaporate human sweat rapidly. Bamboo fiber is four times more absorbent than cotton.
Very breathable, the porous qualities of bamboo fiber account for it's breathability; clothing made of bamboo resists clinging during hot weather or exercise.
Bamboo is an antibacterial fabric that contains a naturally occurring anti-microbial agent that prevents bacteria from cultivating on it, which means it helps keep you odor free.

Hemp

Hemp is a renewable resource from living plants, it absorbs as much carbon dioxide as it releases. It also requires few to no fertilizers and herbicides and is much better for the environment. In paper and textile production, professionals can process hemp without using the toxic chemicals necessary to process other materials such as cotton or wood pulp. In addition to being eco-friendly, hemp clothing also lasts longer than clothing made of other materials. In some cases, clothing made of hemp can last up to six times as long as other fabrics. This is so partially because hemp fibers have a natural resistance to mold and mildew, which makes the material less prone to sources that degrade other materials more quickly. You can also recycle used hemp clothes in paper production. While purchasing clothing composed of hemp may require you to spend more initially, you can save money over time because the clothing is more durable. Hemp clothing is an excellent alternative to other fabrics, including the fact that it is both eco-friendly and longer-lasting than other materials.
